Mission Statement

 

· We Believe that every person irrespective of race, colour, religion, gender and economic circumstance has an inherent right to live a life of dignity free from injustice and hunger and is entitled to the full protection of their human right.

· We believe that conflict arises from situations of injustice and violations of human rights and that these root causes must be addressed as a matter of urgency.

· International terrorism must be responded to under international law and the charter of the United Nations organization.

· People suspected of crimes against humanity should be prosecuted by legal means.

· The International Criminal Court  should be supported and strengthened.

· In the event of conflict the Geneva Conventions for the protection of civilians must be observed.

· We believe that Ireland’s voice at the UN should be an independent and neutral voice to be preferentially exercised on behalf of people who have no voice.

· We believe that massive military spending in a world of grave injustice, hunger and inequality is immoral.

· We believe that the UN should be reformed, that the power of the Security Council be modified in favour of the General Assembly.
